Vernadette R. Broyles is an experienced family law attorney, providing representation in child custody, visitation, child support, family violence, guardianship, conservatorship, paternity, and legitimation matters.  Ms. Broyles also specializes in all types of adoptions – private independent, agency, DFCS, relative, step-parent, international, interstate, and contested adoptions – and is herself an adoptive parent, having adopted internationally.  Ms. Broyles serves as a Guardian Ad Litem representing the best interest of children in divorce and custody modifications.  Ms. Broyles also serves as a Mediator in domestic disputes.

Ms. Broyles is an experienced litigator, having started her career in litigation with the Atlanta law firms of Schreeder, Wheeler & Flint and Hunton & Williams.  Ms. Broyles served as a prosecutor with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.  Ms. Broyles received her law degree in 1995 from Harvard Law School.  She received her undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1987.   

Ms. Broyles has long been an advocate for the interests of children and families in the community, serving on a number of state, federal, and private boards.  Ms. Broyles served on the governing Board of the Georgia Department of Human Resources from 2003 to 2008, during which time she chaired the committee overseeing the Department of Family and Children Services.  Ms. Broyles has served on the advisory boards of the National Advisory Council on Violence Against Women and the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention program.  Ms. Broyles currently serves on the board of the Georgia Family Council and on the board of Bethany Christian Services.  

Ms. Broyles is a member of the GA Bar Association (Family Law Section).  Ms. Broyles is a Fellow with the Georgia Council of Adoption Lawyers and an Associate Member of the Georgia Association of Licensed Adoption Agencies.  Ms. Broyles is admitted to practice in trial courts throughout Georgia and before the Georgai Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals.  Ms. Broyles practices routinely throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
