Ms. Brown has been a member of the Georgia Bar since 1989. She brings a wealth of litigation experience to the Georgia Adoption and Family Law Practice both locally and nationally. Ms. Brown has experience in both domestic and international adoptions. She has also been involved in matters concerning child support, child custody and guardianship.

Joanne has extensive appellate experience. She is admitted to practice and has argued before the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals. She is also admitted to practice in the District Courts. Joanne has assisted her clients in dispute resolution including settlement negotiations, mediation and arbitration.

Ms. Brown received her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1989. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1986.

Ms. Brown served as staff attorney in the State Court of DeKalb County. She was a senior attorney at the firms of Hawkins & Parnell (fka Freeman & Hawkins) and Sharon W. Ware & Associates.
